Three Dorset poets thread paths between sounding and wording
Elaine Beckett won a Faber New Poets award in 2016 with her pamphlet (Faber New Poets 13). Her 1st full length collection (Sea Creature Regrows Entire Body) is available from Verve Poetry Press. Elaine is also a musician. www.elainebeckett.com
Sarah Barr writes poetry and fiction, often about relationships, the natural world and current issues. Her poems have been shortlisted in the Bridport competition and twice awarded the Dorset Prize. Her poetry pamphlets are ‘January’ (2020) and ‘Hawthorn’ (2024). She was longlisted in the National Poetry Competition 2023.
Kathy Oborne was a teacher and now works for a local charity. Her poems often focus on family relationships and childhood. This year, one of Kathy’s poems made it to the long list of the National Poetry competition.
